Welcome to HenryChamberlain.com

NetGalleyHello, Comics Grinder is brought to you by Henry Chamberlain. I am a man with certain tastes in comics, movies, books, culture, travel, and general pop culture.

For a look at my portfolio, go right over to HenryChamberlain.com.

I tend to like offbeat, literary and artful stuff which I find in a lot of places, from the latest minicomic to the current superhero title. Some places you can find my writing are Comic Book Bin, Poopsheet, Newsarama and GeekWeek. I cast a wide net and then go from there. What really gets my attention is something unique, heartfelt, and truly worthy of further exploration. I have been doing this for a long time so I have developed a keen sense for what matters. I am open to just about any content. Ultimately, what really fits, makes it way to Comics Grinder.

I write and draw my own comics. I teach comics. I write and talk about comics. I created the graphic novel, “Alice in New York.” I am busy developing new stuff which includes a comic strip, a new body of work in paintings and a novel.

I am accepting review copies so feel free to contact me: comicsgrinder@gmail.com

Hi Henry. Thank you for following HoB. Much appreciated! I’ll be hanging around here…

  2. Thanks for subscribing to my blog where you’ll find more than 1800 ‘full screen photos’ (but unfortunately no comics 🙂 ) from Norway. And a few macro shots in between –
    Please enjoy!

  3. Henry,
In case you missed my online comic strip about Hollywood and “the industry” you can find it at http://www.nobusinessiknow.com. I am also a long-time member of LASFS and creator/President of Science Fiction Consultants of Hollywood, Inc. My Facebook page “Doug Crepeau” also has links including our concept of a “Childhood’s End” Overlord drawn by Mike Jittlov and approved by Arthur C. Clarke back in 1992. Set the calendar on the first webpage of NBIK to Jan 8, 2004 for intro and 42 cartoons begin on Jan 17, 2004. Enjoy.

  4. Hey there! We have nominated you for the blogging community award, the Liebster Award! This comes with fame, glory, and responsibilities. Check it out here: http://comparativegeeks.wordpress.com/2013/08/18/nominated-for-a-liebster-award/

  5. Henry – Thanks for the follow. I’m serious much of the time, especially when I’m ticked at the administration, and that’s most of the time. However, I do occasionally throw in some lighter stuff. I especially enjoyed your take on flip flops (which I personally hate) and the soft shoes (?) made in Cavallis which I plan to check out.

  6. Uncle Spike

Hello newest Spikey! I know, a bit corny, eh, but that’s the term that has come to stick for those folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it, thrown in for good measure.

My promise to you is not to be overbearing, just a couple of posts a day, maybe 3 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again and hope you have a great day…

    UNCLE SPIKE

  11. Hi Henry, thanks for the follow and what a great blog you appear to have. Really pleased to have discovered it – looks like it could be a great resource. Am just about to listen to the Ben Katchor podcast you posted a link to, which I wasn’t previously aware of (the man’s a genius – a comics hero of mine). Can’t promise much actual comics on my blog but my work is very influenced by comic art so hopefully it’ll have a some visual appeal.

    Keep up the good work!
