ALIEN GIRL (CHUZHAYA, in the origianl Russian) is a mean slice of crime fiction taking place shortly after the fall of the Soviet Union and the rise of the “new capitalism” and new forms of corruption. It is based on the graphic novel by Vladimir Nesterenko, who also wrote the screenplay with Sergey Sokolyuk. It is directed by Anton Bormatov.
After a bunch of gangsters think they’ve taken advantage of a young woman, she (Natalia Romanycheva) comes back and not only gets her revenge but makes her way to the top of the hoodlum heap.
This is a movie to look out for. It releases this Friday, December 17, in LA and New York.
