“Freak Out Squares,” a trippy comic that mixes rock ‘n’ roll with sci-fi, is a fun ride and one more comic that you will find this weekend at Glasgow Comic Con. Artist Garry Mac and writer Harry French are great together on this comic. You can read my review of Mac’s “Gonzo Cosmic” here.

Scottish warriors knew no limits. They would fight to the death, even beyond death, if possible. Scotland has a fierce and passionate history. But, in all this time, it has never had its own superhero. Welcome to Scotland’s first superhero, Saltire. As its creator, John Ferguson states, this is a hero that can embrace both Scotland’s forgotten past and bright future. Here is another comic you will find at Glasgow Comic Con this weekend. Let’s take a look.
“I hate my job,” says Redmond, our main character. He is stuck in quite a rut. Whoever thought time travelling was exciting, had never seen it from his point of view. In the hilarious comic book, “Out of Time,” we follow Redmond around and get to see the nuts and bolts running of a time travel service. This is a very well-paced comic with a great dry sense of humor. This is one of the comics you can find at the Glasgow Comic Con, Scotland’s Comic Book Festival. That takes place this weekend, July 5-6, 2014. Let’s take a close look at this comic.
Here at Comics Grinder, I go wherever my nose for something interesting takes me. I am gearing up for the biggest and grandest Comic Con in the United States, Comic-Con International in San Diego, but don’t think that gives me tunnel vision. There are all sorts of other comics conventions and festivals out there in the States and throughout the world. Consider the Glasgow Comic Con, Scotland’s Comic Book Festival. That takes place July 5-6, 2014. Check it out here. I’ll see about sharing a few things about this special event with you soon. I have one particular item in mind that I will be posting next week.
